Our Team

Dr. Laulainen was born and raised in our local community and returned home to start Three Rivers Eye Care over 30 years ago. Dr. Laulainen graduated from both Pacific University and the Pacific University College of Optometry prior to returning to the area to start his professional career.

Dr. Laulainen enjoys taking care of and lending personal care to each of his patients, and is proud to lead his team in providing the best care in the area. Three Rivers Eye Care has been awarded “Best of Southwest Washington” Optometry Clinic 4 years in a row!

Dr. Laulainen and his wife Kristin, have two adult children, Jack & Quinn – and love to travel and spend time in any warm climate, especially during the winter season!

Outside of work, Dr. Laulainen enjoys golfing and training for the occasional triathlon, rooting on the Seahawks and Mariners, and has always been a long time supporter of local schools and athletics in our area.

Dr. Boran was born and raised in Minnesota, where he attended high school in Brainerd before earning his undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of North Dakota. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometr,y where he was awarded the OOPA Student of the Year award.

Dr. Boran completed advanced training alongside Optometrists and Ophthalmologists in Oregon, Iowa, and Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, he earned certification in minimally invasive eyelid and anterior segment procedures, as well as laser treatments for glaucoma and secondary cataracts.

Before moving to Washington, Dr. Boran practiced in central Oregon, where he developed a strong passion for ocular disease and dry eye management. He was also awarded the “Top Doctor” by NVISION Eye Centers. He believes in tailoring every treatment plan to meet the specific needs of each patient, ensuring the highest level of care.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find Dr. Boran outdoors enjoying time in the mountains- skiing, mountaineering, backpacking, and fishing- or at home cheering on his favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Dr. Boran is excited to be part of the community and is currently welcoming new patients.
